Wow, I think I just realized that tomorrow is New Years Eve. So much as happened in 2008 I can't wait for this year to be over and start fresh. So let's see what's been going on.

Starting with the gloomy news. My father in law Ruben passed in June. My grandma Ofelia left us this month, in December. Gabe's uncle Ernie passed away around April-May. We've had some other losses, but I don't think it would be appropriate to put in here. (They might not approve). All of these losses have touched our family deeply.

Ernie lived in Guam for many many years... at least for all of the years that I have been with Gabe. He was down at Del's for 6 months right before passing away. He had a great personality, one that was dry and you'd have to be quick on your feet to catch what he meant. That was the best thing about him.

My grandma Ofelia, she was old. She has lived a long life with her many children and grandchildren. I think she was ready to be in heaven with grandpa and I am glad she is no longer suffering. She had altimerz for so many years.

Then my father in law Ruben. This is a hard one, he was such a great man who touched so many hearts. I am teary just thinking of him. I believe he is with us all the time. I go to his house and smell his scent, and just think of what he would have been doing had he been here with us still. Then I tell myself, he is here with us, his spirit is strong and his soul is living on. We think he knew he was going to pass. He told his son Ruben he was tired. He had lived a long very long life of many faces. He had a strong marriage with Del and a great bond with his grandchildren.

I remember every Christmas and New Years and his birthday, one of his grandson's would call every single year. I thought that spoke so many words for the type of man he was. My son Raymond and Ruben had a secret handshake... it was a wiggle of the nose and wiggle of the fingers ... he is deeply missed.

So that is our celebration of life. We celebrate the life they led and what they meant to us as they passed.

The Good news of 2008.

Miranda Ellie was born!! Whoo Hooo!!! Exciting news! She was born 8/7 at 9pm in SR.
Mia Bella turned two this year!!! She potty trained right after as well!! By 24 months she was wearing big girl chonies!

Isabel did cheer this year, she did many positions. Side base and front base. I think she had a great year, it just ended a little sour. She quit because something happened that was totally uncalled for and biased of her coach. Isabel had hurt feelings and didn't think that her coach was a fair person. So we moved on and next year I am looking to coach with our friend Sandra, she is an awesome person!

As far as school goes, Isabel rocks it! Her teachers are talking about honor core classes in Junior High and High School, that is way pretty exciting!! I don't know where she gets her brains from, but she most certainly looks like her mama!

Isabel is also in her first year of catechism. She has this year and next year and she will make her first holy communion. It's a very exciting time for her and all of us.

Raymond played football this year. We did take him out half the season because his shoulder kept popping out of place. Come to find out, his coach gave him pads that were to big on him, so he didn't even have correct guard wear. Piss me off! That is my son, I don't want to see him injured. Raymond also has been doing a youth group at our church. He is broadening his horizons. Meeting new people, learning about God and church. I think half the class is High School students.

Raymond is also in a Catechist class this year. He will be making his communion May 2/3rd of 09. I am excited!! His godparents should be Del and Nick again, but we will see how that goes. So for school, well, he is average. His grades are higher when he is not in football but during the season. His grades drop when he's out of season or during season and playing... if that makes sense. We will see how this upcoming year goes. He will be in High School!! Yes can you believe !! Already!!

So for Gabe and I. Well, I had Miranda Ellie in August, that was a blessed moment. Gabe is still working for the company he had been at. He is now traveling everywhere. From North to South, East and West bay. Makes me sick how much he has to travel. But I suppose a job is a job and we are grateful he has one.

I am still a stay at home mom with all my kidos! I love being home, sometimes it can be trying and stressful. But I know that if I don't soak it up, I will never ever get these moments back.

I am a Catechist teacher this year. I teach Raymond's class. That is nice!! I get to study with him and his peers. Gabe and I are also on our journey with RCIA. We are receiving our full rites into the catholic church. That is special for us. It really started because we wanted to get married in church, but it ended up being a meaningful road since we had a few great losses in our life.

Let's see what else do we have going on... we are preparing for our wedding in 2009.
We got to see my grandma and my mom in March 08, we drove to Texas, that was an experience in itself! I turned 30 this year too! I was pregnant with Miranda, but I got a new Coach purse from Gabe, that was AWESOME!

Christmas 2008

Ahhh I love the holidays. This year is a little bitter sweet however. While we had an excellent holiday, as you have heard, my grandma passed away of old age. Otherwise, Christmas was nice. I spent time with my children and their loved ones. Spent time with my brother and his family. Spent some time with my extended family, cousins, aunts and uncles. It was very nice. As many of you know, I don't go around my family much because of differences in our opinions, or rather just the way I was raised. But this Christmas was VERY nice. I got to spend my time with everyone I care about. Here are a few photos to show what a great time we had this season.

In memory of my grandma

Keeping you posted!

catching up
well... things have been so busy here in our home. Starting with the youngest.
Miranda Ellie is now 1.5 months old. She weighs about 9-10 pounds and is learning to smile. She can sleep through most of the night and loves her mommy, daddy and siblings! She loves to be rocked and held, but we are trying to change the holding part of course lol. Miranda was baptised in Sept and that went great. We came together as a family.. of course missing Gabe and Jax but we will see them shortly.

Mia Bella ... she has made some new friends this year. (Cheer moms) she has now a big girl bed, she was climbing out of the crib so we took the rail off. She doesn't sleep much these days lol. She has also learned to tumble... yes I said it! Everyone is convinced she will be a cheerleader... secretly I think I am liking the idea =) shhh don't tell anyone ... On another note, Mia goes to church with us every weekend and does fabulous!! I don't know why we waited so long.. Mia will be celebrating her second birthday already!!! My how fast our babies grow!

Isabel is awesome this year in cheer! This last week she was team captain of the squad... she has also met some new friends who she likes a lot, it's good to see her smile! She is in the same grade school class with my best friend's daughter, so that's pretty neat.. they hang out enough to not get sick of one another lol.Isabel has also started communion classes this year. She will make her first Holy Communion next year.. we are pretty excited, this is an entire family event we are all participating in. I believe she will have a Quincenera instead of a sweet 16.

Raymond, well where to begin lol.. he was playing in Jr. Midgets' football team this year however... he got injured a few times with in 2-3 weeks of the season starting, so we decided it was best to keep him out of football and let his body heal. He will be doing some sports therapy and training to his shoulder and arms and hopefully will be playing high school ball next year. Yes .. he will be in high school next year! can you believe that!! Raymond is making his first Holy Communion this year... and will have his Confirmation class completed by next year when he is in 9th grade. We are really excited!

As for Gabe and myself... we are making plans on getting married through our Catholic Church! We are so blessed and excited.. we are waiting on a few things from our church. We also have joined RCIA to receive full rites into the Catholic Church. Communion, Confirmation and Confession. By Easter time, we will go through the ceremony for these rites and our god parents will be his (our) aunt and uncle Barbara and Bob... we are truly blessed to be going through this as a family. Also I am the Catchiest aide for this year for Raymond's class!!! I am also really involved again in fund raising for Isabel's cheer team.. I am the all around mom, so excited!

Thanks for reading on our current positions in life =0) We couldn't be more happier.. well we could if we could buy our home, but as we all have read, with the tough economy as it sits, the rules and regulations of buying have become stricter... but that's ok.. our time will come that I believe!

Meet Miranda Ellie

Meet Miranda Ellie
Miranda Ellie 8/7 8:57 7lbs 10oz 21.5"

So so so ... I went in Wed night 830pm and they couldn't figure out if they should give me cervidal or some other stuff, they said if I got cervidal it would have th wait 12 hours before starting the pitocin I argued, cause I didn't want to wait 12 hours, I was already 2cm and 50% effaced

The Nurse Practitioner called the doc and said yes to cervidal and yes 12 hours but the last 4 hours would be the most beneficial. So I had that inserted at 1045pm.

7am I was contracting, pretty good too and handled it very well. 1030 am pitocin started up and every half hour it was upped a notch. By 2pm I was 1-2 min apart and at level 8 in pitocin. My cervix was still 50% and they said it felt like I had 2 cervix's it was 3cm on the outside and the inside of my cervix 1cm =( (you only have one cervix but it felt like a funnel)

so I made the decision to get the epi at that point, have my water break and move things along faster. my epi was in at 3 and I was 4cm by 7 I was 6-7cm and at 8 I was fully dilated. We had to wait for the doc to arrive and he got there and I pushed 3 times and out she came

Because I was able to push her out so quickly, she wasn't able to get the amniotic fluid out which is what caused her to not eat, she kept spitting it up and it was all in her tummy, so she felt full. I nursed her in the first 30 min she was born and she wouldn't eat again for another 4 hours. At 530am was her last feeding then she didn't eat again until 12 =( we got worried they got worried and they pumped her tummy. She started eating well after that every 3 hours.

Mia is excellent with her!!!! She has been soooo helpful with her very nice and sweet!!! We are SHOCKED to say the least! I got to sleep last night from 11-4 and woke her up at 400 to pump and feed her then she woke at 7 just to get me up so she can go back to sleep lol.

Gabe and Mia are changing her diaper right now, she is gasy ... lol

I am so in love in again, I didn't think it was possible to feel soooo much love I mean, you know you love your children, but this time it feels differently. I am so blessed to have great children. Everyone has been so helpful and I feel great. VERY sore LOL My epi was barley on (thankfully I wanted to feel everything but the pain lol)

In memory of a wonderful man

Ruben Gonzales
December 31, 1931- June 12, 2008

God saw that you were getting tired and a cure was not to be,
so he put his arms around you and whispered, "come to me".
With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away.
Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay.
A golden heart stop beating, hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us, he only takes the best.

He left behind two sons and a daughter.
Daughter in laws and a son in law.
Many grand kids and great grand kids who will miss him SO much!
He will FOREVER be our hearts.
